&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Parents and teachers are partners in education.  One of the ways that St. Adalbert brings parents and teachers together is through the Parent Teacher Unit, or PTU.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The school PTU was first organized in 1947.  The group was formed to bring a closer relationship between parents and teacher of the school that they may cooperate in promoting the welfare of the children of the Academy of St. Adalbert.  Through its fundraising activities over the years, the PTU has a history of helping supply some of the equipment used in the school and library.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;PTU also raises funds for the school by running  programs like Market Day, Box Tops for Education, Campbell&#039;s Food Labels, and more.  Annually, the PTU holds a variety of fundraisers to provide financial support for classroom activities such as field trips, holiday parties, and other special events.  Each year the PTU hosts many events for the children and their families like the Santa Shop, Family Toboggan Night, Skating Parties, and the end of the year school picnic.  For the teachers, the PTU has an appreciation luncheon, and provides funds for each teacher to purchase classroom supplies.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The PTU is open to all parents of children attending the Academy of St. Adalbert.  Parents are invited to attend all meetings.  Meetings are held the third wednesday of each month during the school year at 6:00 p.m in the Activity Room (formerly the Small Cafeteria).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p align=&quot;center&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;PTU Officer Duties&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Duties of the President&lt;/b&gt; shall be to chair all General and Executive Board meetings and prepare agendas for these meetings; ensure that all officers and committees perform their respective duties; ensure that the Executive Board fulfills its duties in a timely manner; signs checks in the absence of the Treasurer; performs other duties as assigned through the Executive Board.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Duties of the Vice Presidents&lt;/b&gt; shall be to perform all duties of the President when the President is unavailable; supervise the formation of all fundraising committees; appoint chairperson(s) for each committee; coordinate the work of committees to ensure that they are properly organized; shall act as Membership Chairperson, responsible for coordinating the membership drive; a current list of members shall be maintained; review and present all fundraising plans for approval by the Executive Board; perform other duties as assigned through the Executive Board.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Duties of the Treasurer&lt;/b&gt; shall be to keep and report the accounting of the Academy of St. Adalbert PTU; secure the funds and financial records of the Academy of St. Adalbert PTU; collect funds from PTU events and all other revenue sources; provide a detailed written report of the financial condition of the Academy of St. Adalbert PTU semi-annually at General meetings; provide a summary report including beginning and ending balances at each General meeting; perform other duties as assigned through the Executive Board.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Duties of the Secretary&lt;/b&gt; shall be to record and have available for dissemination the minutes of all general PTU meetings; record and submit minutes of all Executive Board meetings to PTU Executive Board members; keep record of the attendance for each meeting and a roll of officers and committees; maintain a central repository for information pertaining to Academy of St. Adalbert PTU; ensure that appropriate appreciation is expressed for the work of committee chairpersons, volunteers, Pastor, Principal and Teachers; perform other duties as assigned through the Executive Board.&lt;/p&gt;

Your order will be stored in the Market Day freezer.  You will also need to send a check for your order to the office in an envelope to Jennifer&#039;s attention in advance &lt;b&gt;OR &lt;/b&gt;pay online with a credit card when you place your order.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If there is an emergency and you are unable to pick up your order, please call Jennifer to arrange for pick up and payment as soon as possible.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Did you know . . .&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Since we started Market Day on 4/14/1992, the program has raised more than $44,997.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Our goal this year is to raise $2,493 for class trips and school assemblies. As of May, we have earned $2639.18.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Our academy earned $400 in free books for our library in October 2007! &lt;/li&gt;

 <title>PTU Garage Sale - Help Needed</title>

That is what the ASA PTU is all about; our students and families.  And the year isn&#039;t over yet, we are also looking forward to an Ice Cream Social during Cultural Arts Night, the annual All-School Picnic, and Pre-School/Kindergarten Picnics that PTU helps fund.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;u&gt;Extra Credit:&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/b&gt; A great deal of funding is needed to sponsor these events and other enrichment opportunities for our students.  This year is the PTU&#039;s 2&lt;sup&gt;nd&lt;/sup&gt; opportunity to benefit from all the proceeds of the &lt;b&gt;Academy &amp;amp; Parish Garage Sale&lt;/b&gt; on &lt;b&gt;Saturday, June 14&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;&lt;/b&gt;.  &lt;b&gt;Last year we raised over $2000!  &lt;/b&gt;If you have never been to the St. Adalbert Garage Sale, you&#039;ve been missing out!  Every table in the Fr. Keller Center is covered with treasures looking for a new home.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;While this is a profitable event, it is also a tremendous amount of work spread over 3 days.  There are day, evening, and weekend hours available to come and help.  As many hands make lighter work, &lt;b&gt;here are 4 ways to earn &amp;quot;extra credit&amp;quot; for all our students at the garage sale:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1)      Donate your unwanted, but saleable, items.  We are accepting furniture, household items, knick-knacks, clothing, etc.  &lt;b&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Grocery Bags Needed</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The PTU needs bags for the up-coming garage sale on Saturday, June 14th.  We need a lot of plastic grocery bags for this event.     Please start saving your bags and drop them off during the donation drop off times:  &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Polaris/Kiwanis Family Fair - 4/5</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Polaris/Kwianis Family Fun Fair at Polaris Career  Center (7285 Old Oak Blvd., Middleburg Hts.) will be on Saturday, April 5th from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 pm.  The Fair focuses on the &amp;quot;young child&amp;quot; by providing information about families and children from area organizations.  ASA will have a booth at the Fair to market the academy to new families.   Of course, we will need volunteers to staff the booth, talk about the academy, answer questions, help kids make bracelets and paint faces.  If you have an hour to spare, please call the office at 440-234-5529.    &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Teamz Restaurant  Fundraiser - 3/13</title>
