Program Description
SMAD (Students Making a Difference) sell Shamrocks to students, faculty and visitors.
Green Shamrocks sell for $1; Gold Shamrocks sell for $5.
Purpose
- To raise funds to continue research, patient care and services to those with neuromuscular disease.
- To focus attention and increase public awareness of MDA and its purpose
- To give the Academy of St. Adalbert a sense of community involvement.
M.D.A.'s Responsibilities
- To provide Academy of St. Adalbert with adequate supply of Shamrocks for event.
- To provide promotional materials to publicize event.
- Offer educational material to group to inform them about MDA and neuromuscular diseases.
Academy of St. Adalbert Responsibilities
- Advertise for the sale of Shamrocks
- Sell Green Shamrocks for $1 and Gold Shamrocks for $5
AN MDA FAMILY SAYS THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
Seventeen years ago our family's life was devastated with the news that our baby girl had muscular dystrophy. We didn't know at the time what life would be like for her. We didn't know if she would live or if she would ever walk. Thanks to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, we found help! They provide us with clinic visits where doctors continually monitor her care. They conduct research to find cures for the more than 40 different types of dystrophy. The MDA provides us with adaptive equipment for our home, car, etc. They also have a wonderful support system in place where she can connect with other kids and as a family we can connect with others in situations similar to ours. Living with a debilitating disease can be uncertain, but the MDA has always been there for us. Our daughter is walking now. She continues to need lots of assistance, but she wouldn't be where she is today without the MDA. Please help us to help the MDA!
