Booster Club

The Booster Club is the sole fundraising source for all extracurricular sports activities offered to the students of the Academy of St. Adalbert and the Parish School of Religion.

Student athletes are given the opportunity to compete in various sport programs offered throughout the year.

The Boosters organization provides a well-attended intramural sports program of soccer, basketball, and volleyball for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through three.

CYO athletics have been an important part of St. Adalbert school and parish life since 1960. Our "Blackhawk" teams have represented our academy & parish with pride and good sportsmanship through out the years as is evidenced by the many trophies and awards on display.

The CYO program offers soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, football, wrestling, fast-pitch softball, bowling and cheerleading for students grades four through eight. Christian living through athletics is the philosophy of CYO. Each year 2 special awards are given to a deserving 8th grade girl and boy who through their daily living demonstrate the high ideals of citizenship, sportsmanship, and leadership. For the boys, the Father John Solinski Award is given each year in memory of a past Pastor. For the girls, the Sister Angela Award is given each year in memory of the founder of the Felician Sisters. These are our highest awards given in honor of sport.

Coaches are trained to promote the development of Christian values, physical skills, psychological skills, social skills, emotional growth and spiritual strength in each athlete. Many of the St. Adalbert teams annually win various league and tournament championships.

Menu: Baked Cod/Scrod, Pierogies (choice of potato/Cheese, Sauerkraut, Ricotta cheese), Cabbage & Noodles, Rigatoni, Macaroni & Cheese, Fresh-cut Fries, Cole Slaw, Roll, 1 piece of Cake, Iced Tea, Lemonade, Coffee.

Reminder: Cheer Leading - 2/16/10

There will be cheer leading practice tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the library - weather permitting.

Reminder: Intramural Basketball on 2/4/10

Students who are registered for intramural basketball should meet in the gym at 6:00 on Thursday, February 4, 2010.

CYO Spring Sports Sign Up

What: CYO Girls Softball, Boys Baseball, Boys Volleyball, Girls and Boys Track, High School girls Volleyball

When: Practices begin the week of 3/1

Teams:

Softball & Baseball will be combined with St Mary Berea and St Mary of the Falls so that we can have a team with no more than 2 grade levels together (preferably 1 per grade level). St Adalbert will host either Varsity or Junior Varsity Softball (grade 7 and 8 depending on the # of sign ups). The cost for all softball players will be the standard $35 fee (made out to St Adalbert Boosters) even if the player is on a team at another school based on their age group. Boys Baseball fees will depend on the number of players we have. If we have enough to host at least 1 team (12 sign ups) from St A's, fees for all boys would be $35. If not the fees will be based on the team they are placed on.
Track will be in conjunction with St Mary of the Falls which already has a developed program and fees will be paid to SMOF.
Boys Volleyball will depend on the number of players. If we do not have enough for a team, we will place your child at the closest school to your home.
Boys Soccer may be offered this year, CYO has not made a decision yet (email StABoosters if you are interested.)
HS Girls Volleyball will be at St Adalbert, fee is $35 plus a $10 uniform fee

*valid physical forms are required, physicals are valid for one year from date of physician's signature

What: Introduction to the sport of Basketball with coaches: Dan Hahn (216-410-64950), Jim Foster & Sara Kwiatkowski

When: Thursdays, 1/14/10, 1/21/10, 1/28/10, 2/4/10 & 2/11/10 @ 6:00 - 7:00

Where: St. Adalbert Gym

How:

Return the form below as well as the permission slip to the main office no later than Friday, December 18, 2009 (last day before Christmas break). Please include your $10 (per child) registration fee (cash or check** only) with this form. Once registered, you will receive an emergency medical form (the week of January 4, 2010) to fill out, which will finalize your registration.

*Permission slip and emergency medical form will need to be completed
