I am very proud to announce, as principal of the Academy of St. Adalbert, the teacher of year. This person was nominated by the teachers. Since we expect our students to be leaders, we must give them the education of a leader. The spirit of our classroom must be that of achievement, adventure and discovery. The teacher nominated as teacher of the year prepares pupils to be mindful and informed of what education is all about in order that, they, the future citizens, become useful and active citizens. The teacher I am about to announce possesses enthusiasm, zeal, and is very knowledgeable and creative in teaching methods. This teacher is truly professional in the classroom, impartial, friendly, and dignified. This teacher is always very professionally dressed.

This teacher inspired intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth from the first day of class. This teacher does this with an incredible knack for understanding each child's personality and strengths. This teacher goes above and beyond the call of duty in the time spent daily at the Academy of St. Adalbert.

Teachers in a Catholic academy have a special responsibility to be icons for their students, demonstrating who God is by their words and actions. Religion teachers are called to be icons of faith because they not only set an example for their charges, they also actively pass on the content of the faith. Thus, an icon, by virtue of what it is, helps inform and deepen a person's faith and love of God.

I would now like to name our teacher of the year: Mr. John Pymn. John is truly an exceptionally fine role model for young children to identify with, particularly in this ever-changing world of ours.

Sincerely,

Deacon John Gregory

Principal
