The Academy of St. Adalbert offers the following support programs to students who qualify:
Title I - Our academy qualifies for this federally funded, US Department of Education program based on the number of economically disadvantaged families enrolled. However, any child, regardless of his/her economic status, may be served by these funds. Our Title I teacher is housed in the Modular Unit on a full-time basis. Classes are daily.
Speech - In accordance with state standards, speech therapy classes are provided through state funding. These classes aid in the remediation of incorrect speech patterns, assist in the correction of expressive and receptive language patterns, and provide a modified speech and hearing program for students with auditory deficiencies. Classes are twice weekly.
Remedial Instruction - This includes individual and small group instruction in reading and math, performed by a certified teacher from the Module Instruction Unit and funded through State of Ohio funds. Classers are daily.
Psychological Services - Counseling and psychological services are provided for the purpose of testing and assessing student needs. Counseling sessions are also provided. Referrals may be made by the Principal, teacher, or parents. Permission from the parent is required before services are rendered. Meetings are twice weekly.
Learning Disabilities - Tutoring is provided for those students who qualify for LD classes. Classes are held several times per week for 30 minute sessions. Sessions are one on one or in a very small group.
STEPS Center for Excellence in Autism - This program specializes in the treatment and education of persons diagnosed on the autism spectrum. The STEPS program at the Academy of St. Adalbert is designed to meet the needs of children who are ready to move into a small group setting or an inclusive school setting. Click here to view the STEPS page for more information.
Homework Lab - A homework lab is offered each day after school from 2:30 to 3:30 through our Extended Day Care Program. The lab is supervised by a teacher who will provide assistance to students as needed. To utilize this program, parents must complete an Extended Day Care Registration Agreement (click here to print a copy), including the one-time registration fee of $25 per family. Extended Day Care charges also apply.
Quest Enrichment Program - The Academy of St. Adalbert is pleased to provide the Quest Enrichment Program for students who qualify due to superior cognitive ability and/or creative thinking. The Academy recognizes that each child is unique and wants to be challenged. The purpose of the Quest Enrichment Program is to challenge those students who excel academically to use their giftedness to further their education. Students are selected by the Quest teacher, their previous and current teachers, as well as their standardized testing scores.
